Moving a dental clinic: a guide to a quick move

How to move a dental clinic: dental unit, compressor and suction, X-ray and autoclave, coordination with the technician and back to treating patients within days.

In short

A clinic move is planned around the technician: they disconnect the unit, compressor, suction and X-ray, we move everything, and they install it at a new site prepared in advance with plumbing and power. With good planning you are treating patients again within a day or two.

Prepare the new clinic

  • Water, drainage, air and power points at each unit position.
  • Space for the compressor and suction pump.
  • A suitable X-ray room.
  • Check with the authority whether the X-ray permit needs updating for the new address.

What moves and how

  • Treatment unit and chair: after disconnection by the technician, wrapped and padded.
  • Compressor and suction pump: upright and strapped.
  • X-ray and autoclave: padded packing, kept upright.
  • Cabinets, drawers and materials: packed and labelled by room.

Suggested schedule

Move on Thursday or Friday, the technician installs early in the week, and you return to treatment right after testing. Let patients know the new address in advance.
